About me

I am a deeply compassionate, creative, and inspired person that enjoys helping others find their way. As a clinical social worker I've worked with clients in diverse settings including community mental health clinics, a psychiatric hospital, and in private practice. Thinking about ways our lives could be different is easy. Yet, breaking out of old habits or figuring out new ways forward can feel overwhelming. Psychotherapy can be helpful for cultivating insight and identifying solutions and methods for meaningful change.

My therapeutic approach is client-centered, strength-based, and transformative. Together we can explore the role your thinking, emotion, physical health, and community play in your wellness. This holistic approach is based on my training and practice as a clinical social worker and meditation teacher. Depending on your goals and preferences, our work together might include talking about patterns and life circumstances, learning more about your interpersonal style, practicing mindfulness or breathing exercises, engaging in creative arts for cultivating self-compassion, grounding yourself through anxiety or emotional pain, or learning coping skills.

I look forward to working with you!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Meri Stiles. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I have been in sessions with Dr. Stiles for quite a while, but I have found healing and growth every week. She is supportive and helps me peel back the many layers of struggles that I'm going through. I have become more resilient, flexible and overall more healthy as an individual during my time with her. The therapuetic and professional relationship I have with her allows me to work on issues I have never found myself feeling safe enough to delve into with other providers.

I’ve really liked working with Dr. Stiles. She is very insightful! I was a little nervous back upon starting therapy but she quickly made me feel at ease. I think she has helped the way I see the world and look forward to continue working with her.

Dr. Stiles is the most incredible therapist I could ask for. Just knowing I have her in my life makes me feel much more confident and happy in life. She is very understanding and offers realistic options. I wish everybody who was going through hard times had her to talk to. I rave about her to everyone.

Dr Stiles is very talented at what she does. I felt so much better after only two sessions. She is a deep listener and gives just the right amount of feedback I highly recommend her.

I cannot imagine a more competent and helpful counselor for this first-time patient than Dr Stiles. The clarity I got after our first session was completely unexpected and helpful. She is kind, compassionate, a great listener and knows exactly what questions to ask to trigger the most self reflection and understanding. Not to mention the tools and suggestions she provided me were tailored to my needs specifically. Cannot say enough good things!

I've never been in therapy before so I don't have a lot of comps to use, but I'm finding it really helps me to meet with Dr. Meri Styles. She asks me questions that seem so simple, but that I haven't asked myself before. When I look at the questions and answers, I understand myself better. She's very "regular" and relatable. I'm sure she's an expert (and an educated and worldly person) but she doesn't try to make herself seem important when talking to me. It's hard work for me and I cry every time I talk to her, but I feel like I'm understanding myself better thanks to her questions and insight. This is one of the best things I've ever done for myself and I'm so grateful that she's the counselor I was matched up with.
