Michael Dodden
About me
Is ADHD making you feel overwhelmed, emotionally tangled, or like you’re falling short no matter how hard you try?
You’re not broken. And you don’t have to figure it out alone.
I’m a UK-based counsellor and coach working with adults navigating ADHD, autism, chronic stress, emotional pain, relationship issues, and burnout. Many of my clients are late-diagnosed, or still wondering if they’re neurodivergent — living with overthinking, people-pleasing, masking, or just feeling like the world was built for someone else.
Others are simply exhausted from holding it all together — at work, in relationships, in parenting, in silence.
You might be navigating chronic pain, battling invisible guilt and shame, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you.
Whatever brings you here, I offer something deeper than quick fixes — a space where you can unmask, exhale, and feel fully human again.
What Working With Me Feels Like
Warm. Grounded. Real. You’ll never be rushed, pathologised, or talked down to.
We’ll gently explore what’s been weighing you down, and move at a pace that honours your nervous system, your life, and your story.
Sessions might include:
Neurodivergent-affirming therapy and coaching
CBT tools for managing anxiety, executive dysfunction, and emotional spirals
Support for Rejection Sensitivity, low self-worth, and trust repair
Somatic and mindset strategies for chronic pain and nervous system regulation
Space to understand and express your ND relationship dynamics, especially in mixed ND/NT partnerships
Who I Work With
I work mostly with ND men — including tradesmen, creatives, tech professionals, and entrepreneurs — often carrying the emotional weight of families, partners, past trauma, or simply trying to survive in a neurotypical world.
I also welcome ND women and non-binary people, especially those in relationships with ND men, and those seeking a deeper, more honest experience of therapy.
Clients often tell me they feel seen for the first time. Like they don’t have to perform, explain, or apologise.
A Bit About Me
I’m a late-diagnosed AuADHD man who spent 30 years in IT, masking hard and burning out repeatedly. I’ve lived through five burnouts, several suicide attempts, and years of therapy that didn’t quite “get” me.
I’ve now trained as a therapist, coach, and hypnotherapist — and I’m building the kind of space I needed back then.

Michael has a real talent for quickly understanding both your situation and your needs, while also seeing the bigger picture. This allows him to offer thoughtful, practical advice and clear action plans that feel easy to apply in everyday life. He’s warm, professional, punctual, and an excellent listener, which makes you feel genuinely heard and supported throughout. I honestly couldn’t recommend him more highly — a brilliant therapist.

I gave Michael a lot of input and data to absorb in our first session. He held space and let me speak and vent. I’d like to continue with him and begin the process of perhaps being challenged on my assumptions and I’m confident in his expertise on the matter.
