About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in St. Louis, Missouri with 6 years experience providing direct mental health and behavioral therapy. I have worked with individuals ages ten to adult with a variety of presenting issues though primarily LGBT issues. I approach the therapeutic relationship with an acute sensitivity and respect for cultural factors.

My experience is varied as I have provided individual and family therapy in community mental health clinics, research institutions, schools, and treatment facilities. I believe we are all products of our genetics as well as our environment, including family systems and close relationships. I strive to approach treatment holistically.

My therapy style and approach use mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing as well as strengths-based approaches. A top priority for me to is meet you where you are and calibrate treatment and my approach to what will work best for you.

The first step to improving your life, or just returning to a sense of normalcy, is asking for help. I am here help you reach those goals.

Michael’s been a rock for me ever since I started counselling with him. Our sessions have honestly become some of my favourite moments of my week. He always listens to everything I have to say and he really gives me a lot of reassurance and support during our sessions. I feel like I’ve made a lot of progress in the last few months with him and I’m really thankful for all that he’s helped me with :)

Michael is excellent!

Michael is great at looking at my concerns as a whole and responding thoughtfully to each point. It helps highlight key themes which can then be discussed in our weekly discussions. It's been a great tool and way for me to process. And he has been a great help in that journey. He is real, genuine, kind and direct which is an important balance to find in a counselor.
