I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Mental Health & a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) in Washington State with 17 years of professional work experience. I am a unique Behavioral Health treatment provider that specializes in ‘Mindfulness’ combined with standard ‘disease model’ treatment. This format can be use in CD, MH or Co-Occurring (CO) CD & MH conditions to educate clients to better understand how their maladaptive self-destructive coping behavior is negatively affecting their lives. I use the evidence-based practices of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address and identify overwhelming emotional states, as well as the skills necessary to self-regulate and address mental health and addiction triggers. This is accomplished by learning Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotional Regulation Skills and Distress Tolerance Skills as a way to deal with the stressors that plague people with mental health issues, as well as addiction. These concepts are integrated with the disease model to educate clients on how to develop an overarching holistic approach to building a recovery plan that will last a lifetime. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, relationship issues, & intimacy related issues.
