Dr. Michaela Spangenburg, Psychologist
About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and HSPP with 15 years of experience providing therapy to families and individuals across the lifespan. I currently work with adults and adolescents navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, difficult relationships, emotional burnout, and recurring patterns that may trace back to childhood experiences, family dynamics, or unresolved past experiences.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you are used to carrying things alone or feeling like you have to keep functioning no matter how overwhelmed you are.
Many of my clients describe feeling emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, overly responsible for others, or trapped in cycles of conflict, shame, avoidance, or self-doubt. Therapy can help you better understand these patterns while also building practical tools to navigate emotions, boundaries, communication, relationships, and everyday stress.
My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and integrates evidence-based practices with deeper relational and insight-oriented work. I strive to create a space that is nonjudgmental, supportive, and authentic, where clients can safely explore difficult experiences, deepen self-understanding, and develop meaningful strategies for change.
You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can begin wherever you are right now and work together toward building a life that feels more grounded, connected, and fulfilling on your own terms.

Michaela has been amazing for my journey so far. She has been able to identify so many behaviors and patterns of mine that years of therapy in the past never could. I’ve only had 4 sessions with her and she’s just a godsend for me.
