About me

My name is Michelle Hamilton and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) here in the Madison, Mississippi area. I am married and have 6 kids, ranging in ages from 3-27. I have been married to my husband for almost 19 years. I have been an LPC for 5+years. I have experience as a therapist. I also have experience as a program director of a residential mental health setting, and a clinical director of a community mental health clinic. These varied opportunities have increased my knowledge and skills as a therapist. They have given me the opportunity to work with adolescents, as well as adults and families.
In my therapy practice, I use a combination of solution focused and reality therapy. I also focus on your strengths. So what does this mean? There are ways you have gotten through tough situations before. Those strengths are what we need to dig out. It means I am focused on results. I want to see you succeed in the things YOU state are important. This is your journey, I am just along to help you discover the possibilities. It also means that we come up with a plan that you think will work, and we tweak that plan as needed. This is your life and we will work together to make it the best life you can lead. I look forward to hearing from you and beginning your journey.

What an amazing counselor! She listens and reaches with best wishes for upcoming events I’ve mentioned during our sessions which shows she listens. She is down to earth and has a great way of applying her licensed skills without it feeling overwhelming or like she’s just checking a block. Ms Michelle Hamilton really care! Thank You

Michelle is phenomenal. After experiencing some trauma, she was able to facilitate quick healing and coping mechanisms. As we got to know each other more, I felt more confident working on other mental health concerns I had. She empowered me to make changes, was supportive, and also very funny and likable!

Michelle has been a light in my life. She has played an intricate part of my growth as a woman, by giving me a safe space to lay down some of the emotional burdens that I’ve never been able to talk about before. She’s so positive, extremely responsive and really helps me to see my situations with a clear lens.

Michelle gave me a safe space to discuss my myriad of issues and concerns without fear of judgment allowing me to come to some conclusions of what I need to be doing in my interpersonal relationships. She helped me narrow my focus on specific fields of interest so as not to feel like I’m failing to do all the things I want to get done. She supports me in a way that I don’t feel like I need to hold back information from her. Thank you, Michelle.
