About me

My name is Michelle Miller (she/her) and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Nebraska. I have 20 years of experience working with survivors of primary and secondary trauma. My areas of focus include sexual violence, domestic violence, substance abuse, dual diagnoses, vicarious trauma, and professional sustainability. I have worked primarily with women and those who identify as LGBTQ+, though I welcome anyone who wishes to work with me.
My therapy style is strengths-based and person-centered. I believe every person should be treated with dignity and respect, and I believe therapists should do their best to meet people where they are and to understand each individual’s unique circumstance and perspective. While I rely most heavily on trauma-focused, cognitive-behavioral, dialectic-behavioral, and solution-focused techniques, I am an integrative therapist and I utilize different approaches to meet clients’ unique needs.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

She has been extremely patient with me. She listens and knows that even if something needs to be addressed but my anxiety is running high with another matter, she will give priority to the pressing matter.
I feel like I can be open with her without judgement.

Michelle helped me identity behaviours and helped me sort my thoughts out regarding sexual abuse and coping mechanisms that I used at the time that were confusing.

Michelle has helped me with a lot. I’m pausing my BetterHelp account because I feel I’m in a good place right now. That being said I couldn’t recommend Michelle enough. She is amazing at what she does.

I’ve only had one session with Michelle so far but I felt instantly comfortable with her and she listened to what I wanted to get out of therapy and respected my boundaries with it. Can’t wait to continue!
