Hello! My name is Michelle Pellin, and I am licensed as a professional counselor in the state of Connecticut and Florida. I currently hold two Masters: one in Behavioral Medicine and Health Psychology, and the other in Human Services and Counseling. Previously, I was a licensed therapeutic foster parent for almost 20 years, working mainly with mentally and emotionally disabled teens, and adopted two of them. I also worked as a case manager for 7 years fighting for the rights of my acquired brain injury, physically challenged, and elder clients.
I have worked with all kinds of individuals, and welcome anyone who needs support, as I am open and affirming to all. I believe that as a holistic, spiritually minded psychotherapist, one must be healthy in mind, body and spirit. I am a true believer that your past experiences have brought you to your present situations and will be assisting and supporting you in your counseling journey. I will help you find a better, more peaceful place in your life.
My philosophy is simple. Believe in yourself. Believe in the power you hold within your soul to change the world around you. Don't let others drag you down to their level. Surround yourself with supportive people. Work hard, but make fun one of your top priorities. Reach out and give of yourself to others in need., but also give back to YOU. You are stronger than you tell yourself you are. You can be that person you want to be with the power of positive thoughts and actions.
During our time together, I will treat you with the dignity and respect you deserve, and not pass judgment. I will listen to your concerns, and provide you at times with gentle guidance. However, you are the captain of your own ship, so I will never insist on doing anything you don't feel comfortable with.
It took courage to seek help! I look forward to working with you.

I didn’t know what to expect when I started. I was going through it really hard and Michelle listened and had all the right responses. I am feeling better on my own and more so with the assistance of Michelle.
I was contemplating canceling my service because at this time it’s out of my price range, getting divorced and all, but it’s worth every penny. It’s the right things at the right times and I’m very grateful for Michelle.

Michelle is very good at getting to the key issue and bringing it into focus for me.
She had opened my eyes to issues that I was not aware of.

Michelle is a very heartwarming person who knows how to listen. This was really important to me as I didn't have anyone who would understand my problems. She is also very patient, unlike other counsellors that I've experienced. I recomend her to any one who wants to feel accepted, heard and supported. Despite out time zone difference, she always tried her best at responding to me in time.

I am going through a lot in my life but unable to find time to see a therapist face to face. This is when I discovered BetterHelp via Google. Michelle has taken the time to get to know me & the best ways to help me. Nobody can know me in a week but she’s doing a great job so far. I don’t know if she knows how valuable it is to be understood. I would recommend her to anyone.

I very much appreciate the judgment-free ears of my counselor! Her questions are thought-provoking and she follows up on previous conversations which helps me sort through and face the inner conflicts that concern me. She is helping me let go of misconceptions about who I should be in order to make room for the person I am meant to become. I am most grateful to her.

Even though it is my first online counselor Michelle is far and away the best counselor I have ever had. She doesn’t just take the snippet from your intake and try to get you to a linear path, she deals with you as you grow and as you learn new things and if something changes she’s able to go with the flow and change too. That’s been invaluable to me. I really cannot recommend her highly enough.
I’m finally getting clear decent, thoughtful, compassionate, empathetic help and I really do appreciate that and her.

She is a very nice lady, she quickly heard my symptoms and came back with an extremely accurate diagnosis for how little information she had been given. I have no doubt that any second opinion would only solidify her suggestions.
