About Me

My name is Dr. Michelle Stangline. My doctorate degree is in Counseling Psychology. I have been counseling adults at all stages of life, teenagers, and children since 2004. In 2004 I worked as a counselor at a mental health facility for four years in Atlanta. Here, I worked with adults of all ages in the mental health and addiction sector. For the past 24 years I have worked with college students, high school students, middle school students, and elementary students in education. In this sector of counseling I taught college as an Adjunct Professor at two major counseling universities in which I taught many classes to graduate counseling students. Also, I have worked as a School Counselor for all ages of children and teens. In education I also worked with parents to help their children during difficult times. I have also worked as an Equine Therapist, Grief Therapist, Play Therapist, Sand Tray Therapist, Beyond Art Therapy Therapist and a Trauma Specialist Therapist.

My training in therapy is vast. I believe that it is my job to find a therapy that fits my individual clients. I have been trained in all the Traditional Therapies and many others. These include (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Rational Emotive Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Freudian Therapy, and Existential Therapy. Other therapies I am trained in include Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Grief Therapy, Jungian Therapy, Art Therapy, Hypnosis, Creative Therapy, E.M.D.R. The approach I take in therapy is truly a creative one. If you would like to see some samples please check out my website at www.creativecounseling101.com. I have written over 12 eBooks on counseling techniques on counseling and mental health issues. Six of these eBooks are geared for therapist so that they can learn creative techniques for their clients. I do not believe in doing "Just Talk Therapy" with clients. I take a creative approach that will take you to a deeper place and help create more meaning in therapy.

If you are interested in therapy that will allow you to truly learn about yourself, help you reach your fullest potential, live your best life, and be your happiest self please contact me. Together we will begin the journey into therapy. I will be here to support you all the way. I know how hard it is to make that first step. I have been there myself and have seen how powerful great therapy can be! But first you have to show up for therapy. It's not going to always be easy and fun, but I can promise you that if you are ready for therapy, and do the work involved, you will never regret your decision to start therapy!

I look forward to hearing from you soon!
