I am a licensed professional counselor and registered art therapist in Michigan. I graduated from Wayne State University in 2015 and have worked in numerous environments including community clinics, nursing homes, and an inpatient hospital. I have experience working with adults and adolescents in both individual and group settings. Specific areas of experience include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, stress management, and self-esteem.
I believe strongly that the most important aspect of successful therapy is a positive therapeutic relationship. I strive to understand my client's values, interests, and perspectives. My main goal is to be a compassionate source of encouragement and support. I recognize that each person is unique and has their own preferences and needs during counseling. For this reason, I seek and value input from clients regarding what they feel works or doesn't for them.
My treatment approach is often a combination of person-centered, strength-based, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. However, I work from a mix of different theories, depending on the needs of the individual. Goals are an important part of any therapy process, and I understand a client's goals may change as we work together. I constantly encourage my clients to examine their progress and take pride in their strengths and accomplishments.
I believe that we often have the answers to our struggles and concerns within ourselves, and simply may need guidance with finding them. My goal is to help my clients navigate through uncertain or difficult times and develop a better understanding of themselves. It takes courage and motivation to seek help, and I am honored to assist and support others in their journeys.

Michelle is the one person I feel like I can connect with right now. She understands and has helped me so much through these hard times. I recommend talking to Michelle because she takes the nice approach. Doesn’t turn it on me and make it negative on me. Puts the whole experience into perspective for me
Understanding and compassionate, Michelle has a lovely kind way of dealing with my problems. I am very happy with the progress that we have made together and am eager to have sessions with Michelle again.
Very friendly, awesome advice and makes me feel very calm and clear headed after speaking.
She always responds in a timely manner, and has obviously taken the time to listen to my responses. So far she has come across as very professional and competent.
Love the counseling I receive from Michelle!
While my time with Michelle has been short, she has created a professional relationship that is both promising and safe. As someone who has had trouble finding a therapist to suit my needs, this is huge.
I'm excited to see what kind of progress can be made with my mental health.
I am so impressed with Michelle's prompt responses. She acknowledges the things I bring up and helps me work through them, and if we need to circle back, she's happy to do that as well.
I think Michelle is of great support and sensitive to see the core of the problem. Her being so responsive during the day, felt like talking to a positive journal.
Michelle is fantastic! She is helping me so much. I highly recommend her.
Michelle has given me faith in the counseling. She's helped me understand things about myself that I haven't been able to understand for 30 years. I've recommended BetterHelp to my sister and friends because of her. I've had other counsellors before who were really generic in their approach (deep breaths! try journaling!) but Michelle's approach is specifically tailored towards helping me address my specific issues. I feel like she really understands me. I am very grateful to have found her and only wish I would have done so sooner.
