Mona K Bernhardt, LCSW
About me
Working to alleviate suffering and set people free; can work from a Christian perspective on request. I've provided therapy for 15 years for teen and adult clients with a wide variety of issues including grief, addictions, trauma, disabilities, anxiety, depression or other mood disorders, family and parenting issues, neurodivergence and brain injuries as well as personal growth and spiritual development. It's an honor to be of service in supporting others to take steps toward wholeness and excellence! It can be challenging to ask for help--good work in getting this far!
On Tuesdays, 7-8:30pm Central, I facilitate the support group Optimizing Resilience: A Christian Perspective, where we support each other and explore ways to expand resilience including discussing topics like seeing adversity as temporary, how our belief informs perseverance, focusing on what we can control, nurturing healthy relationships, processing emotions, sharing coping skills, living a healthy lifestyle, breaking goals down into baby steps, cultivating optimism and awe, and lastly, redirecting negativity toward positivity and compassion. Check it out!

Mona is an amazing therapist who listens attentively and finds ways to help you ground yourself but also work through the issues in a gentle manner that you’re comfortable with. I can’t recommend her enough

Opening up to anyone about private matters we carry alone, day in and out, is not easy. The moment I stepped into her professional zone I felt I could finally let go of all I was carrying. Sickness, grief, betrayal, loneliness, she listened and directed my heart and mind back to what really matters. She encourages me to take time for myself and encourages healing with guided avenues for mind renewal. Mona K. Bernhardt has need a great help on my road to better mental health.

Mona makes me feel comfortable to talk about whatever I currently have going on. She is compassionate and gives wonderful advice, while also being productive with what direction to go towards. Speaking with her is very fluid, as opposed to other types of therapy.
