About Me

Hi, my name is Monica. First, let me say that it takes a certain type of bravery to ask for help from anyone, let alone a stranger. It is different than the bravery it takes to protect our country or our cities, different than the bravery it takes to walk into a room full of people, and even different than what it takes to perform on stage or on an athletic field. So please take a moment to acknowledge this and be proud of yourself!
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida, where I recently moved. I have worked in the mental health field for 21 years in some capacity, including community mental health, forensic assessment, and school counseling. What I find most gratifying is that "light bulb" moment when the person in front of me realizes and understands their worth, their strength, or that sense of safety. I work with the individual to help them see past the personal obstacles that brought them to me in the first place and be able to find the happiness or feel relief they seek. I listen, I accept, and I coach you into a better state of mental balance. While I am trained in various types of therapy, I tailor my technique to the person I'm interacting with. I place most of my focus on our therapeutic relationship, which is the key to our success. I recently have found a passion for helping those courageous individuals in first responder fields. I have been trained in Critical Incident Stress Management and am finishing my training to be a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I also have had training in Emotional Tapping and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I work with those living with depression, anxiety, trauma, rage, grief, life changes, stress, and whatever else might interfere with you being the person you want to be.
So pull up a "couch" (or your favorite chair or happy place, because with BetterHelp, you can do this wherever you feel most comfortable) and let's get started. I am ready to listen and do what I can to help.

Monica is a great counselor, not only would she listen but also will intervene with the right questions and advice. She can connect with the patients very quickly and made me feel safe and that I can trust her since day one! I fully recommend her to anyone that wants a fully dedicated counselor.

Monica has taught me different techniques to deal with my situation. Feels like I'm talking to a friend over the video chat.
