Nakkia King, LCSW
My name is Nakkia King and I have worked as a Clinical Social Worker in the State of Georgia for 17 years. I received my BA in Psychology from Spelman College and my Masters in Social Work from Howard University.
I have experience helping individuals, couples and families experiencing issues with communication, stress management, relationships, anxiety, trauma, abuse and adjusting to life changes. I believe the foundation to wellness involves identifying and understanding thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while providing skills to respond to and manage them effectively.
I work from a strengths-based perspective, understanding that each of us possesses inner strength that we can draw upon to make the changes that we desire for our lives. My clinical approach is humanistic and eclectic. I utilize the following therapy approaches: Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy; Motivational Interviewing; Psychodynamic Therapy; Trauma Focused Therapy; Solution Focused Therapy.
If you are ready to begin a journey towards healing and self-discovery, I am available and honored to accompany you. I look forward to meeting and working with you!
Additional areas of focus: Relationship issues, Trauma and abuse, Intimacy-related issues, Eating disorders, Sleeping disorders, Anger management, Career difficulties, Depression, Coping with life changes, Coaching, Compassion fatigue, ADHD

She’s really great, she listens to me deeply and helps me with ways in which I can increase my general happiness. She’s very strategic and doesn’t judge my way of thinking!
