About me

My name is Natalie Baker, I use she/her/they pronouns. I am a licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health in the state of New Jersey. I have over 15 years of experience in mental health. I have provided counseling in both community settings and private practice settings. Those settings include hospital, residential, school, partial care, and outpatient services.
I use a person centered, humanistic approach to therapy. I believe every person should look in the mirror and see the value of their authentic self. So, I meet each person where they are on their journey, with no judgement or shaming. Together, we will build a collaborative, trusting relationship. Then we will collaborate to create your therapy goals. I will use my knowledge of scientific evidence based therapeutic modalities to find the best path forward for reaching your current life goals.

I enjoy working with people to help improve their lives. I have worked with many individuals to help improve their communication skills and build healthier, more satisfying relationships. I have experience working with people with depression and anxiety, OCD, ADHD, body repetitive focused behaviors, gender identity, and more.

We are all a work in progress. I am glad you have taken these first steps to improve your wellbeing. You deserve to live your best life. And I look forward to helping you.

Natalie was an amazing therapist 5/5
I ended up moving out of state and needing to discontinue working with them and I’m sad about it but am thankful for everything I learned while they were my therapist.

I've done therapy with Natalie for more than a year. She has been a steady support. She's very adaptable and always finds a way to respond to working on my problems.

Natalie has been truly helpful and supportive since day one. She makes an effort to connect with you and understand what you are going through. Very easy to talk to and non judgmental. You can tell she is really passionate about her job and really cares. She is passionate about her continuing education in her profession and it shows. She is a walking plethora of information and expertise. She always gives useful techniques and guides you with ways to get more information. I always feel better after our sessions; even the tough ones. Highly recommend her.

As a visual learner, Natalie's therapy method resonates with me more than any other I've tried. I feel she listens and understands and has helpful advice!

Natalie is so sweet and thoughtful. I worked with her throughout 2022, and she helped me through work-related and personal issues. She was always super flexible and understanding, especially if I was running late or had to cancel appointments last minute. As I told her in our last session, I felt very affirmed and supported by her, and made a lot of progress in my self-confidence at work and within my interpersonal relationships. Thank you, Natalie!

I temporarily suspended sessions in June and am thrilled to be getting back to her. I missed talking with her every week and look forward to starting up again.
