Hello, my name is Natalie Criss and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. Thanks for taking a minute to look at my page! I specialize in treating LGBT clients. I treat children and adults of all ages for anything from ADHD to all types of depression and anxiety. I have 3 years of experience treating children in foster care who were sexually or physically abused. My ideal client is anyone who is willing and ready to work. I never judge and always seek to help my clients become whoever it is they want to be. I also have a background in Christian ministry which I have found to be helpful in working with clients of any sexual orientation who are struggling with issues of faith. I respect all faiths and religious backgrounds and never approach the subject of religion unless the client wants to discuss that. Being a member of the LGBT community myself gives me a better understanding for what LGBT clients are experiencing. I do my very best to earn the trust of my clients and help them recognize and build upon their own strengths.
A little more about my background... I got my bachelor's degree in Film and Television Production (St. John's University) and I do videography on the side. I have two master's degrees. One in Religious Education (Fordham University) and one in Counseling (Marshall University). I spent 5 years working as a Campus Minister on a college campus. Counseling students is what helped me realize my passion for counseling. I pursued a master's in counseling and then spent 3+ years working for a foster care agency. I now work in private practice which has been perfect for mommy life. My wife and I have two toddler daughters that keep us active. We love chasing them around and spending as much quality time with them as possible. I am thrilled to be able to offer online counseling and to have the opportunity to reach more clients. I got into this profession because I truly love helping people and seeing people become exactly who they want to be. I had a lot of help when I was younger and struggling with depression myself so I am honored to be able to pay it forward. I look forward to working with you!

Natalie has been great, patient and very accommodating. She's friendly and easy to talk with.
She's brilliant. She has great insight and asks questions that make me think, and this helps me work things out in my own time.
Natalie is awesome! She answers all of my questions so that I understand them and always gets back to me in a timely manner.
Online counselling with Natalie has been great, it's really helped. I'd highly recommend BetterHelp website and Natalie as counsellor.
I think Natalie is a wonderful person!
Natalie has been a fantastic counselor for me and I have seen some big changes during our time together. She is very understanding and compassionate and has helped me massively in understanding and transforming myself.
Natalie was an excellent sounding board during a difficult time for me. She is quick to respond, knowledgeable, and very personable. I never felt like "just another patient".
Natalie has helped me so much words can't even explain how amazing she is!!!
I've only talked with Natalie for a short time and she has been wonderful. I am caretaker for my mom and it would be very difficult to go out to a therapist. I really love that I have the opportunity to message her my feelings day or night instead of sitting in an office and trying to think of everything at once. I trust her.
Natalie is responsive, detailed and thorough. She responds to every message within a day, and is great at assessing your situation from afar. She's a great resource and wise listening ear.
Natalie's empathy shines through in our sessions. She sees things from a different perspective, but always adopts culturally sensitive approach in her views. Her words are a balm to my soul.
