About me

I am Natasha Jones Kinto (Lumbee) and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate in the state of North Carolina. I am also a National Board Certified Counselor. I completed my Master of Arts in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke in May 2017. I have over three years of clinical experience in individual and group therapy.

I received a fellowship award to study addictions and to provide culturally competent counseling services for underserved populations. I have experience working with college students, young adults, adults and elders.

My theoretical orientation is Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). I utilize a trauma-informed approach as well as Motivational Interviewing (MI) principles. My techniques focus on the client’s motivation to change, their irrational thoughts and effects on behavior.

I am person-centered and passionate about service to others. I have a biopsychosocialspiritual perspective to wellness that includes a holistic therapy style. My goal is to provide my clients with the tools that they need to live a balanced life.

Natasha is a fantastic therapist. She listens and gives great advice to help you recognize the tools you have. And if you have a concern with her as a therapist and discuss it with her she does everything in her power to help fix the issue.

Very compassionate. Natasha is detailed oriented. Listens and aids in troubleshooting issues with textbook, and in a way to bring out the best in critical thinking whereas the client can think through issues with her guidance.
