About me

I am Natasha Jones Kinto (Lumbee) and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate in the state of North Carolina. I am also a National Board Certified Counselor. I completed my Master of Arts in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke in May 2017. I have over three years of clinical experience in individual and group therapy.

I received a fellowship award to study addictions and to provide culturally competent counseling services for underserved populations. I have experience working with college students, young adults, adults and elders.

My theoretical orientation is Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). I utilize a trauma-informed approach as well as Motivational Interviewing (MI) principles. My techniques focus on the client’s motivation to change, their irrational thoughts and effects on behavior.

I am person-centered and passionate about service to others. I have a biopsychosocialspiritual perspective to wellness that includes a holistic therapy style. My goal is to provide my clients with the tools that they need to live a balanced life.
