I am a Licensed professional counselor with about 5 years of experience working as a mental health counselor. I have experience helping people process the effects of past Trauma, and helping people better understand and cope with their disruptive mood symptoms such as depression and anxiety.
My style as a counselor is encouraging and supportive, I encourage self-reflection and self-acceptance to help people find greater purpose and meaning in their lives. I believe that through respect and understanding people can be empowered to find grow from their challenges and break old habits while becoming a more authentic person. I use a Acceptance and Commitment model of Cognitive behavior treatment that focus on both self-acceptance and acknowledging the realities of the world with out being limited by them. I use an existential perspective while letting you direct the focus of our efforts to make progress.
The road to a meaningful, happier, and more fulfilling life begins with small but significant steps, seeking help is the beginning of that road with infinite possibilities,
I look forward to speaking with you, and supporting you on that journey to a happier and meaningful life.

Neal is someone who cares, and who takes the time to understand you and what you are experiencing. I had never been to any type of therapy before and was very nervous to take that step. Neal has “held my hand” through this process and made me feel safe and validated.

While I was only able to meet with Neal for a few sessions I found his approach and counseling very useful. I really saw a shift within my perspective and how I approached situations with honesty and acceptance. I for sure will be carrying these skills onward.

Neal Reierson is kind, understanding and sets up goals after each session. It's a very straightforward and effective approach. I was really stuck in negative/fearful thought patterns that prevented me from pursuing my goals and Neal helped me find ways to clear a path forward.

After years of struggling with anxiety and depression, this was my first time with this kind of therapy. I was nervous and skeptical.
In a surprisingly short time, Neal and the Betterhelp platform have helped me achieve tangible, practical, life improving goals. I was relieved that I could choose to have my sessions via text, phone, or video. Neal is very easy to talk with. The opposite of what I feared. I already feel better than I did when I started this journey. I’m not done yet, and I feel optimistic about my future. Why did so wait so long?

I am so incredibly thankful for getting matched to Neil during this very trying time. I have been to a lot of therapists and feel like for the first time I found someone who I felt was helpful enough to stick with for a longer period than I have before.
He’s really kind and humble, but so wise and good at being able to help me see why I’m feeling a certain way and helping me work it out. I also feel like that I can be open if something doesn’t sit right with me or if I’d like to go in a different direction. I always feel very heard and respected.
And I also feel confident that if I have wrong thinking, he will help me to realize it in the best way possible.
I feel like every single therapy session I have been having several big “lightbulb moments” and I’m always taking notes since the information is so helpful.
He’s really good at what he does.

Neal is great. He is nonjudgmental and checks in without making me feel obligated or bad if I haven’t engaged much, being that life has been
hectic lately. He offers insights, notices things (that I didn’t even notice myself), and asks questions that have been useful in my journey toward a better me.
