About me

Hello! Thank you so much for taking the time to review my profile. My name is Dr. Nicole Grant and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have over 20 years working in various community based agencies provided services to individuals who were trying to cope with challenges that they faced. Some of the populations I've worked with include: individuals and families, domestic violence, the homeless, individuals living with a mental illness, substance abuse and HIV/AIDS.
I received my MSW from Columbia University School of Social Work and my PhD from Capella University

My therapy style is engaging and warm. I will always lead with respect and ensure that the treatment plan is specific to the needs of the client. My approach to treatment is the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Solution Based Brief Therapy. I believe in allowing my clients to be in the "drivers seat" as they are telling their story. I serve as someone who will guide the process as they work through their journey to begin to feel better and learn strategies to cope with whatever situations are presented.

My approach differs with each client as everyone's situation is unique. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable space where individuals can share, reflect and get support.
Taking the step to make changes toward a happier and healthier life is a process and I am committed to helping to guide that process.

Dr Nicole does not sugar coat anything and tells you the truth which is great in itself. She has helped me navigate a very hard 6 months of my life and I feel positive about the direction I'm going in and that is thanks to her. She listens and is skilled at unpicking things I hadn't even thought of, making me question myself, the situation and come up with solutions. Dr Nicole has set homework that I've had to really dig deep to answer truthfully. I've really enjoyed my sessions with her and highly recommend her as a therapist.

Dr. Grant is one of the best parts of my week. She is able to listen to what I've been struggling with inside my head and slowly and calmly unpack things together until we come up with a game plan I couldn't see before. She's encouraging, relatable, intuitive, and incredibly intelligent. She can quickly pick up when I am falling back into old mental habits and will point them out in a way that feels supportive and never condensing. I can tell she truly cares about me, always remembering details in stories I've told weeks ago to bring them back up when she sees a connection to something I'm currently talking about. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Dr Grant listens with compassion yet isn’t afraid to say hard things I need to hear. I am grateful to have her as a therapist.
