Nicole Wheeler, LPC
About me
I am licensed in Pennsylvania with 6 years of counseling experience and 27 years total in the mental health field. I have experience working with family dynamics, parenting, Autism, at-risk youth, OCD and chronic illness. I particularly enjoy working with transition aged clients and OCD including skin picking and hair pulling. My primary approach is a Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MBCBT). MBCBT allows me to educate my clients on mental health, thinking processes, coping skills and how to restructure thinking in order to feel better. I am also trained in Habit Reversal, ACT, DBT, COMB and ERP. These approaches help you identify triggers, change your environment, and develop coping skills to OCD. ERP is an exposure therapy that slowly exposes you to your fears to decrease distress. I highly believe in the quote "You are the author of your own life story" (C. Young). I live this out through teaching my own SELF model of soul searching, altering ones environment, learning to love oneself, and forgiving oneself. I also believe telehealth is a good way to plant the seeds for client's to grow especially for those new to treatment. I'd like to get to know your story and help you grow as a person! Please note that telehealth treatment is best suited for general mild to moderate mental health issues and not for severe mental illness. I do have experience with trauma, but moderate to severe trauma is best treated with in-person services particularly with a focus on EMDR. When completing your intake information, please give more detail on the symptoms you are having and the extent of your trauma so I can make an informed decision on if you are a good fit for my online skills. Thank you for reaching out and choosing me as a candidate for your treatment!

Nicole is absolutely the best counselor I’ve ever had. I actually feel like I’m making progress with my mental health and learning new things instead of just talking about the same issues over and over again and never getting anywhere. Thanks, Nicole!!
