About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Montana with over 21 years of experience working as a therapist. My journey in the field started in reunification of families whose children had been removed due to neglect and abuse. Most recently I was trained as a Diversity and Inclusion Counselor for my work with service members and their families. I have extensive experience in helping clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, grief and loss, family of origin issues, physical trauma or emotional abuse, just to name a few.

My counseling style is warm and interactive, taking time to build rapport as it is a solid foundation for the future counselor/client relationship. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Empathy is key. However, I am direct and honest with clients. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, solution focused and rational-emotive counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek help from a therapist. I love to help and educate clients. I am here to listen and help you learn and apply life changing tools. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to working with you.

Nikki is incredibly well versed in trauma, grief and the affects of domestic violence. She is current with evidence based practice and has a calming, yet strong persona. She listens intently and offers several options and tools to begin using at each session. Quick responses and consistent check ins have allowed me to quickly build a trusting relationship. Best decision I’ve made in years.

Nikki is a fantastic therapist. She is probably the main reason that I've been with better help for so long. She has the perfect approach to get the best out of me. She's firm when she needs to be, funny when it helps, and always leaves me with a better understanding of myself and new perspectives to investigate. It will be a sad day when she is no longer my therapist.
