Nwando Olisa

About me

I am Nwando, MSW, LICSW, LCSW-C; an Independent / Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Therapist, with a Master's Degree in Social Work. I offer a safe, warm, therapeutic, judgement free space for Adults (18+) and Elders (65+). My strengths lie with listening (actively), client engagement, support, processing your feelings and empowering you to overcome, heal and thrive. With the use of Mindfulness, CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, Strength Based Therapy, Supportive Therapy, Humanistic and Client - Centered approaches, we will work on your specific goal(s) with the purpose of arriving at an outcome you desire. Each client I serve will be met where they are, with acceptance and empathy. Life happens and we each encounter challenges at one point or another. Negative thoughts and beliefs often control how we think, feel and relate. Over time, our negative emotions and pervasive thinking patterns can/may become overwhelming and even repressed.

I serve clients with depression, trauma and abuse, family conflicts, stress and anxiety, relationship issues, motivation, self -esteem, confidence, and coping with grief and loss. I believe you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming challenges. I provide culturally competent therapeutic services and offer daily, bi-weekly, weekly and/or monthly sessions. We will reflect on any challenges you may have, including past and present. And as a team, we will get to the root cause, identify your triggers and work collaboratively to develop insight, awareness, coping skills and tools to build your resilience, so you can arrive at answers within yourself.

It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life, and to take the first steps towards change. I am here to support and empower you through your journey. I look forward to hearing your story and collaborating with you to explore choices, resources and options that will help you make positive and sustainable life changes.

I am generally able to respond to messages within 24 -48 hours. Please remember that BetterHelp is not appropriate if you are in crisis or have an immediate (emergency) need for support. In crisis situations, please call 911, your local Crisis Center or dial 1- 800-273-TALK (8255) any time day or night. You may also use the new shorter number 988 to speak with someone immediately.
