Hello and congratulations to the second step in taking care of you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 14 years of experience and have an eclectic style in my approach to therapy. I work to help those gain insight, stimulate change and create new connections while being a witness and support throughout their journey.

My specialties include Anxiety, Functional Depression, Trauma, Personal Growth & Life Changes. I have experience working with those who struggle with (but not limited to): various mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety & post traumatic stress, sexual violence, trauma, abuse, coping with life stressors, grief & loss, and relationship issues.

I have worked with individuals, families and couples, professionally and voluntarily, in providing various modalities of therapy facilitated on a local and international level. The variety of techniques I provide are as follows: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Play Therapy, Sandplay Therapy, Art Therapy, Faith-based Spirituality, Motivational Interviewing and the Gottman Level I method all which are directed by the needs and goals established by the client.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Onessa Robertson. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Onessa has truly been an amazing resource to help me navigate hard life situations. I appreciate that she is also a black woman so there’s a level of understanding that is without explanation. I feel safe to be vulnerable and myself with her. I am extremely grateful for this resource and platform.

Listens without judgement. Has a uniquely calm presence & approach. Professional 100% but I don't feel I'm being analyzed. Doesn't invalidate feelings yet respectfully responds & provides feedback so as to prompt introspection & perspective consideration. Helps me pull back the layers to explore my whys & their possible origins. Suggests practical action items to make positive emotional & mental health progress. Onesaa is very skilled & patient. Would absolutely work with again.

Onessa is a very supportive therapist, she is a great listener and she offers different views on situations which help to put things into perspective. During every session she offered me some new and creative resources that might be helpful for me. She is very respectful and creates a very safe environment so it was very easy for me to build trust towards her. She kept track of my progress and helped me to see and appreciate my achievments. I am very grateful for what she did for me.

Ive been working with Onessa for a little over a year now, and she’s simply marvelous. I was pretty nervous about starting therapy, and while Onessa was just the second or third person I’d spoken to, I knew right away she’d be The One. So easy to talk to, patient, pushes the boundaries ever so gently at your pace, all while keeping things fun. Still have lots of things to work on but looking forward to doing it with Onessa!
