Hello! My name is Pam Goucher. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in both Arkansas and Tennessee with over 30 years of experience working as a clinical therapist. I have experience in behavioral health and medical social work, so I have an understanding of the impact medical issues can have on someone's life. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, bipolar, trauma, parenting and relationship issues. I have also worked with individuals who have experienced alcoholism/addictions. I am familiar with the 12-steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. I am most comfortable with a Christian approach, but I am accepting of and have worked with various religious beliefs and lifestyles including LGBTQ. I come from a military background as my father was a Vietnam vet and my son has completed 5 tours of duty in Iraq/Afghanistan. I am also a grandparent raising a grandchild. So as you can see, I am a fairly experienced, well- rounded person. I understand that sometimes life just happens and we need help making sense of it all!
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I am open minded and accepting of others. I will not judge you or present as biased. My therapy style is eclectic, as I use whatever your unique and specific needs call for. I do tend to lean more towards cognitive-behavioral therapy though as I believe every situation provokes a thought--a thought a feeling-- which in turn produces an attitude or behavior. I also like to explore your family of origin issues as those early family dynamics do tend to influence who we are today.
I always start by reassuring my clients that they aren't crazy or weird...what you're feeling is normal for what you are experiencing right now. Anyone in your shoes would most likely be feeling the same way. It's okay and you're okay! We can figure it out together:)
I look forward to working with you!

She is amazing, helpful, and insightful.
Although I’ve only had a few short sessions with Pamela, she has really taught me a lot about my own mindfulness. She is encouraging, helpful, a good listener, and supportive. She makes you feel understood even if you don’t understand yourself.
I am definitely continuing with Pamela for many more sessions.
Pamela is by far the best therapist i’ve had, she’s sweet and makes me feel like she really is listening to what i have to say. My mental health has gotten better since signing up for betterhelp and i owe it to Pamela!!
Going through a rough time in life, and Pam has been... Just amazing. Not only has she listened and helped me, but she also tells me what I NEED to hear, not just what I want. I have so much respect for this woman; her compassion, and understanding are depthless and she has a real understanding of Mental Health.
I feel that my counselor has really helped me to become healthier, and to understand myself and others better.
She’s very professional but she helps me in a way that’s designed for me. Not like a standard counselor who just says things without reading into you. I’m glad I’ve met her.
She is empathetic and has great listening skills to be able to help me reach my goals. Empathy. She communicates effectively and critically thinks of ways for me to improve my situations. I appreciate the alliance.
She is amazing gives unbiased advice and has been with me during my journey or hard times. I would recommend her 100%
Pam helped me and my wife strengthen our relationship, both in terms of romance & communication. She listens and understands without laying judgement.
Yes, she is understanding and cares 110% of the time. She helps me with my goals.
Pamela Goucher has been such a great listener and offering support and helpful suggestions for me to deal with situations ranging over the past 40+ years. She provides me with excellent feedback each week. We message along the way between our live sessions.
Pamela is a very Essential part of my healing and recovery for my self-care.
Pamela is amazing. She has helped me discover so much about myself and my family and friends that I was unable to uncover on my own. I would recommend her to anyone, and I've recommended betterhelp to a handful of people based on my experiences so far with Pamela.
I would recommend Ms. Goucher to anyone in need of a compassionate/friendly ear. I have every confidence she’s has the expertise and empathy needed in order to help me succeed in my mental health journey.
I was nervous about finding a new person to talk to, as I have had therapists I did not mesh well with in the past. I am very thankful I was matched with Mrs Pam. She is kind, easy to talk to, and I look forward to our future sessions!
Pamela is very caring, understanding, patient and helpful. Thank you for all you do.
Pamela has been very good in our session. I truly appreciate her voice in my situations.
She has helped me think more positively and keep me focused!
Ms Pam has been incredible for my family! She is helping us navigate through some very difficult waters. I trust her expertise and appreciate her empathy for our situation and how well she juggles all of it at one time.
Pamela is extremely insightful and really makes me feel seen and heard. Thank you Pamela!
Pamela is awesome! I was really going through a hard time and felt like there was no way out (of course that was my anxiety talking). She helped to explain things, slowly and clearly, and it has made me feel like I am more than just a number to someone. She really helped me to begin to regain control when I was spinning out.
I absolutely adore Pamela! We just had our second session. She is easy to talk to, very nonjudgmental, and it helps to have someone other than my friends or family to speak to!!
Pamela has been extremely insightful to my needs and situation. She’s also very kind and courteous. She’s available anytime I need.
Best choice I’ve made.
Through the two sessions I have had with Ms. Goucher, I have come to find that I am supported in the fight of my depression. It has helped me considerably as we all enter this time of crisis in the United States. I have been known to absorb tension in my family and a lot of this problem has increased my anxiety and my depression. Ms. Goucher has listened to me through all of it and I am in a much better place because of it.
I have been working with her for a few weeks now and I always feel validated and supported. She’s calm and understanding. I don’t feel like a client when I’m talking to her. She makes me feel like a human being. She is incredible and I highly recommend her for anyone looking for support and guidance.
Pamela has been wonderful! She is repspobsicw and knowledgeable about my situation and provides helpful tips, worksheets and processes. I have felt extremely comfortable speaking with her about all aspects of life. I am extremely grateful for her at this time in my life!
