I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in New Jersey. I have 40+ years of experience working as a School Social Worker, and more recently as a Military Family Life Counselor. As a School Social Worker, I have worked with youth and their parents to help identify barriers to school adjustment and to develop appropriate strategies and solutions. Individual issues included depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems and systemic obstacles. I advocated on behalf of students and parents to influence organizational change and also helped and coached them to access services to which they were entitled. As a MFLC, I helped active-duty service members, and their family members to manage the unique circumstances of military life, but also to develop appropriate coping skills to manage stress, relationships (both career and personal) and regulating their emotions.
My counseling style is varied. I believe in listening, being respectful and honest. I believe in coaching people to help themselves by identifying and clarifying problems, exploring solutions then guiding them to execute their chosen path.
