I have been an active trauma therapist for over 8 years, working with people from all walks of life. After completion of my education I began my clinical work splitting time between a trauma informed clinic and a public school in the inner city. Working with families from many different cultural backgrounds, my counseling style constantly had to evolve and change to meet the need. I always have an emphasis on treating the family when possible and truly enjoyed that type of work when given the opportunity. As I gained more experience I turned more focus toward drugs use , trying to gain empathy and understanding to better treat those I served. Putting trauma and substance use at the forefront of my treatment approach I was then able to work on and refine other areas that are connected. Providing support and encouragement to parents that may be struggling, coping with anxiety or even bolstering self esteem are all areas that I have experience with as well as depression, body image, self-harm, bullying, defiance, attention impairment and grief. I am constantly attending training's to increase my skills and interventions so that I can stay current with new and effective methods of therapy. Outside of work, I am a husband and father to three young girls. Being a parent is extremely difficult but truly rewarding. Most of my free time is spent with my children, coloring, reading or looking for bugs.
My approach is calm, attentive and supportive. I am a firm believer in allowing you to heal at your own pace and will empower you to actively take part in your treatment planning and action. As I respect each clients pace, I will also do my best to provide you with caring confrontation as needed.
Therapy truly is a huge step and taking the time for yourself is such an important part of the process. I applaud your bravery and look forward to working with you.

Patrick is an amazing counselor. He is highly competent, very kind, supportive and responsive. He has helped me tremendously and I am so grateful to him for all his support and advice. He doesn’t forget to follow up and check on me, and I really appreciate that. Patrick cares about his patients and cares about their progress. I highly recommend Patrick to anyone.
Patrick encouraged me to try more than just the email back and forth. Patrick encourages at least once a week meeting, even if it's just through a chat to check in. I feel that when I talk about what's on my mind, even in that hour alone, I am able to cover so many topics. Patrick gives support and makes me think - thanks to him, I'm finally able to start processing and understanding forgiving, situations in my past, and getting to the root of my anxiety and fears. Patrick gets back to by the next day and is always positive. BetterHelp, I think you got a great counselor with this one!!
Thank you, Patrick. You have been extremely helpful in such a short time.
Since meeting Patrick, he has responded to my messages very quickly and with respect and compassion. I feel like he is a good therapist and I like messaging with him. I feel like he cares about his patients and gives very sound advice or just asks really good questions. I would refer any of my friends or anyone who would ask for a therapist to Patrick.
(Anxiety, ADHD & self-esteem issues.) Patrick's just great. It didn't click w/ the 1st counsellor I was matched with, but I got re-matched w/ Patrick within less than 24h & I never considered switching again. Already looking forward to our next session
