Peter Thompson
About me
I gained my Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling in 2011 and have both volunteer & professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, coping with grief and loss, & motivation, self esteem, and confidence as well as various other problematical areas of life. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I am pleased to say that I have been described as "down to earth" and "real" in my work which has always worked well with my clients. I also seem to have developed a healthy and well timed sense of humour when the occasion demands. I believe it relevant for the client to know the therapist is equal with them.

It takes courage to reach out for help even when its being offered and to take the first steps towards a change. I work in an eclectic style calling upon a number of modalities to suit the clients need. But my work will always be Person Centred with the client at the heart of our work at all times. Three words are always at the centre of my work. CHOICE - RESPONSIBILITY - AUTONOMY. And I will work with you to regain ownership of them in your world. I will endeavour to check my messages a couple of times each day so I sincerely hope not to leave you awaiting my response for too long. I look forward to meeting you.
I am also a writer and Spoken Word poetry performer.

Peter Thompson is the type of therapist everyone should experience at least once in their lives. I always leave my sessions with him with a positive outlook and attitude. He communicates extremely well, and therefore his words find a way to stick with me. He isn’t afraid to challenge and seeks to make sure that everything said in this sessions work in every day life.
Two months I have been with him and he has already done so much for me that I don’t think I could ever repay him.
1000% recommend him.

I asked for straightforward and accountability. Peter is able to execute on this style amongst many other styles. Experienced, and competent. Peter is able to quickly take the information I give and shift healing where it is needed. Peter is a great listener.

Peter is an amazing therapist. Only 2 sessions, it has helped me immensely. My partner has noticed a big difference in the way I handle stressful situations and being able to communicate about my feelings and emotions. Thank you Peter.
