My name is Philip Clary, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I have over 8 years of counseling experience working with individuals, couples, and families in inpatient and outpatient settings.
I earned a bachelor’s degree from Mercer University with majors in philosophy and German. I studied for 1 year at Phillips Universität in Marburg, Germany and received a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Fort Valley State University. My ongoing studies in and love of philosophy inform my approach to helping others examine their lives as they seek meaning, direction, and purpose.
I am interested in helping you understand, cope with, manage, and reduce the symptoms of depression and anxiety and adapt to major changes in life. I work patiently and compassionately with those seeking to understand and come to terms with feelings of shame, loss and grief, meaninglessness, isolation, and ultimately our limited lifespan. I hope to help others, young and old, discover or create their own meaning and purpose in life. I want to help people answer for themselves, “How do I want to live the rest of my life?” and to develop ways to meaningfully connect with others.
Our options for contacting each other include texting, live chat, phone sessions, live video (Sundays and some week nights only), or any combination of these. Many people prefer the convenience of text-only counseling, and I respect that. Please understand that text-only also presents unique challenges and limitations to communicating about deeper, more personal issues and to establishing personal connection. If text-only is the best option for you, I will strive to build and maintain a relationship within that limited format.
I look forward to working with you to set and meet your goals for your best life.

Philip is very professional and checks on me regularly. He has been very supportive and without explicitly telling me what to do, he has allowed me to understand and assess the situation on my own.
Philip is responsive, non judgemental and understands the complexity of the issues I am facing. I appreciate the fact that he checks with me if he has not heard from me for a couple of days.
Phillip is an incredibly professional, kind, and helpful counselor. He listens and helps me get to the root of my problems, which is what I struggle with more than anything. I've become a significantly wiser and better person in the short time he's been helping me. I recommend him to anyone suffering from depression or anxiety.
Philip has been so helpful for me. He responds in a very timely manner and checks in when he hasn't heard from me in a while. His counseling helped me through a very difficult time with my daughter.
Phililp is very insightful and very quickly helped me take a deeper look at my life and how I wanted to live moving forward. Highly recommend.
Philip has assisted me in looking at and processing some issues in key areas of my life. This has resulted in greater clarity, understanding, and healing for me. His friendly, reflective, and balanced way of being makes it easy for me to share my innermost thoughts and feelings. Philip has a great ability to listen and reflect back what I'm saying without judgement, yet with very helpful insights. He's very supportive, and has helped me become more aware of my strengths. Counseling with Philip is very beneficial. I look forward to my sessions, knowing they will be truly helpful.
Philip is an understanding person. He replies to my concerns quickly and offers coping skills.
Philip responds quickly and is always very professional. He has a real talent for finding the good in every situation and is always very nice. I even missed a few days recently and he continued to check-up on me to make sure I was alright. 10/10!
