Philip Hazlehurst, BACP
About me
Hello, my name is Phil a BACP registered counsellor with 15 years of experience. I have my own private practice where I work with clients all over the country.
Counselling can be a big step, so It's important to have the right person walking along side of you. Talking is so powerful, and it's about letting those thoughts and feelings out in a safe place to someone who can understand. I've had counselling myself, and get how important this is.
I work in a person centred way, but I'm also skilled in mindfulness which is really helpful with anxiety and depression plus CBT, as I think it's important to find the best path for you.
I specialise in bereavement, life changing illness, anxiety, depression, Loss, LGBTQIA, sexual violence, Domestic violence and Trauma, but I was told when I first started my counselling journey, that everything is linked to a loss, this is a concept I agree with. I have experience of working with lots of different types of people, with lots of different types of struggles e.g loss of loved one, job, confidence, childhood.

This is the first therapist I worked with in 15 years that helped me actually resolve some of my problems and improved my life by a large margin. Absolutely brilliant!

Philip is kind and patient. He takes time to understand me and my relationships and is a great support in helping me to understand my anxiety and it's possible roots. He gives me practical, simple steps to contain and sometimes beat it!
