About Me

I work with kindness, compassion, empathy, and will walk alongside you in your journey on a path to reclaiming happiness and your authentic self. I will help you to feel empowered in accepting and managing your emotions, thoughts, and spiritual life. I have over 30 years of experience working in diverse methods and aspects of counseling and therapy. I have worked with depression, anxiety, trauma, sexual abuse, spiritual abuse, relationships, and more. I have been an active ally in the realm of LGBTQ and systemic racist issues and am dedicated to promoting the healing and resolution of the challenges related to bullying, isolation, and trauma. I utilize a variety of methods including mindfulness, meditation, art, humor, and more. I prefer to use the phrase “emotional and mental challenges” versus “mental illness” which tends to stigmatize and place people in boxes. All human beings experience some of those challenges to different degrees. I am holistic in my outlook on life and practice meditation and mindfulness myself in order to stay centered and focused.
I enjoy reading, going for long walks, spending time with family, the ocean, and my cat. I look forward to walking with you on your path.

Phil is a GREAT counselor. He communicates openly and honestly and understands what I am willing and able to talk about. He doesn't push or pry and has helped me deal with my problems in a very matter of fact way, and has given me tools to help me deal with what life throws my way. I would honestly recommend Phil to anyone I've met.

I came to better help to work on depression, dwelling on the past, and not getting out of the house to do activities that I enjoy, like hiking. Phil was able to walk me through the issues seeking the foundation that was leading to my concerns. This was key to me as I want to know the whys. In addition, Phil has great techniques for being in the now instead of dwelling on the past.

I have been working with Philip for almost 2 months, and it has been a godsend for me. I have been going through a lot of difficult events in my life and Philip has approached me in a calm manner with a lot of wisdom. I am typically a calm and logical person, but even for me, his calmness has a significant effect on me. His methods fit my background in meditation and self-care. I highly recommend him to anyone, especially men, who need another male perspective.

I can't express enough what a calming influence Phil has been in my life. His experience with mindfulness and meditation has helped me to see deeper into these practices and their benefits, as well as to inspire me to delve deeper on my own. He's a compassionate listener and sometimes that's all one needs. He's more than a listener though, and provides real insight and perspective on things that trouble you, giving you real takeaways to work on and consider without being judgmental or results-oriented.

Mr. Moss is very helpful, sometimes its good to have different perspective, an outside view of things. His advice is simple to understand and easy to follow, as he leads me in search of myself.
