About me

My name is Phillip Mosby and it is so wonderful that you have decided to seek counseling through BetterHelp to promote positive change in your attitude and values about your life. Therapy is one of the best tools individuals can use to bring about positive change in their life. However, for therapy to work there must be a sense of openness, trust and honesty between the client and therapist.

As a license Master Social Worker in the State of Michigan I have worked in the field of behavioral health services for more than forty years in multiple positions. During my last twenty years in my role as a clinical therapist I have worked with clients with a variety of behavioral health concerns including depression, Personality disorders, anxiety, stress, trauma, obsessive compulsive disorder and couples and family relationship issues.

My counseling style is first to listen to my clients and to show empathy to their concerns by expressing understanding, care and hope. I have the utmost respect for my clients and would never project any judgments and or stigmatizing labels on them.

My approach is client centered combining cognitive behavioral therapy and rational emotive therapy to help you to develop action steps to accomplish your goals. I promote working with the client strengths and their personal relationships within their own environments to help them navigate and harness the synergy from these resources to bring about positive change in their life.

I see my professional craft as a fulfilling ministry to help others to reach a satisfying and happy place in their life. To those who would entrust their life problems with me I will walk with you, listen, encourage, support and empower you to positive outcomes.

Respectfully,
Phillip Mosby, ACSW, LMSW, CAAC
