About me

Hello, my name is Pete Martucci and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, currently working in the state of Minnesota. I have been a practicing counselor for 6 years and I have worked in the mental health field for over 10 years. I am currently completing my PhD in Counselor Education with a specialization in crisis and trauma. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Counselor as well as a Disaster Mental Health Counselor and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. I have spent the bulk of my career studying the impact of trauma and how it can direct our thoughts and behaviors. I have worked with individuals across a broad spectrum of mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, panic disorders, personality disorders, mood disorders, relationship difficulties, body image, self-esteem concerns, addiction and other life challenges.

My therapeutic/counseling style is rooted in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. I believe it is an empowering framework that assists clients in recognizing and treating their mental health concerns, by challenging the way we think and how we act on those thoughts. I also will challenge you to move outside of your comfort areas and address those discomforts. In addition to CBT, I practice through a Solution-Focused approach that is helpful in addressing life challenges and stressors. I want you to feel comfortable in our work together and because of that I treat all individuals with respect, kindness and removed of any judgment.

It takes great courage to ask for help and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with you as you move forward on this journey to a healthier life and mind. I believe the work we do together, is a collaborative process and I will assist you to learn, grow, and make positive changes that can result in a more fulfilling life.

I look forward to hearing from you and beginning our work together.

Definitely the only therapist I’ve ever had a relationship with to where I feel like I can actually be myself around them. I appreciate his direct communication style, balanced with his professionalism and respect for me and my boundaries and my unique journey. Super grateful for him and his influence in my life.

The best therapist I've ever had

Pierto (Pete) is amazing! He is my first therapist and has helped me in more ways than I could have ever imagined. I was nervous to start therapy because I didn’t know what to expect. He listens and helps me see things in a different perspective which, in turn, helps me better understand myself.

Pete is always very attentive to my issues. Whether that be a long term issue or a recent one. I always feel heard, understood and supported. He had helped me make positive changes in my life. From setting boundaries, to having open and honest conversations with effective communication. He creates a safe, non judgmental environment where I can be myself. He's been a great guide to clarity and understanding. Together, we've made great progress!
