About me

Hello, my name is Pete Martucci and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, currently working in the state of Minnesota. I have been a practicing counselor for 6 years and I have worked in the mental health field for over 10 years. I am currently completing my PhD in Counselor Education with a specialization in crisis and trauma. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Counselor as well as a Disaster Mental Health Counselor and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. I have spent the bulk of my career studying the impact of trauma and how it can direct our thoughts and behaviors. I have worked with individuals across a broad spectrum of mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, panic disorders, personality disorders, mood disorders, relationship difficulties, body image, self-esteem concerns, addiction and other life challenges.

My therapeutic/counseling style is rooted in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. I believe it is an empowering framework that assists clients in recognizing and treating their mental health concerns, by challenging the way we think and how we act on those thoughts. I also will challenge you to move outside of your comfort areas and address those discomforts. In addition to CBT, I practice through a Solution-Focused approach that is helpful in addressing life challenges and stressors. I want you to feel comfortable in our work together and because of that I treat all individuals with respect, kindness and removed of any judgment.

It takes great courage to ask for help and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with you as you move forward on this journey to a healthier life and mind. I believe the work we do together, is a collaborative process and I will assist you to learn, grow, and make positive changes that can result in a more fulfilling life.

I look forward to hearing from you and beginning our work together.

I’ve only had one video call with him so far but even before that, he messaged me some mental health tips. That’s how you know he’s dedicated to what he does.

Pete is a wonderful therapist. He is kind and understanding, but also challenges me in a very positive way to help me see things for myself, instead of just holding my hand through things. I would highly recommend him!

Pietro makes me feel the light that I seek within myself. We first chatted in 2022, and recently got back online. I’m glad to be back talking with him so we can talk about the important things in my day to day life that are truly bothering me. And he does really well expressing the importance of believing in yourself and achieving the best out of life! He is just so awesome and I truly do appreciate and feel safe, seen, and heard on BetterHelp. Pete truly does make me feel like I can live my best life and achieve my biggest dreams. Really appreciate him a lot. ✨
