Rachel Mock, LMHC
About me
I look forward to working with you. At times, therapy takes effort, but it's rewarding to see the results!
I like to start with a client-centered approach, because I believe that people often go to therapy in order to process their feelings, clarify their needs, and identify their strengths. Once people have verbalized their goals and their motivation for counseling, I like to incorporate solution-focused therapy and CBT in order to help them solve their problems and achieve their goals.
I’m a licensed mental health counselor, and I obtained my master’s degree from Florida State University in 2007. Over the past decade, I’ve provided therapy for individuals and families within a number of settings, including two hospitals, two nursing homes, several schools, a substance abuse treatment program, two outpatient mental health centers, a correctional facility, an eating disorder treatment center, and a community college. I’m also a registered art therapist, and I’ve done art therapy and play therapy with many children. I lived in Guatemala for over a year, where I provided therapy through several humanitarian organizations.
I enjoy working with individuals of all ages as well as couples and families. I’m happy to be offering my services through BetterHelp, and I look forward to working with you! You can find out more about my private practice, the Center for Support, at http://centerforsupport.com/
