About Me
Are you a single looking how NOT to re-create the wheel of your dating past? Maybe in a relationship but wanting more tools to make it work? Life is about change, and some changes are more difficult to navigate than others. When we are stressed, anxious, or depressed, it is a sign that our lives are out of balance. My focus is on providing a safe, supportive, non-judgmental and compassionate space for adults, couples, and families to share their experiences and help navigate through some more difficult life changes [positive or negative]; to create more balance in your life. I enjoy working with clients motivated to make changes to improve their lives and find purpose and meaningful fulfillment. I believe in attachment theory and how it affects our daily lives and our day-to-day interactions with ourselves as well.
I have a great Dating Relationship Myths Book on Amazon "Are you love smart or love stupid?" that is going to help you navigate all that terrible dating and relationship advice you have gotten over the years! I run a great Instagram with free resources at @uncomplicatedtherapy talking more about this. Attachment theory is my JAM, You can take a free attachment style Quiz there as well to find out your style.
I received a Masters's in Counseling and Guidance in 2015 from Texas A&M University- Kingsville. I have my Doctoral Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am a life-long learner, which means I am dedicated to discovering and mastering therapeutic practices and interventions to make me a better counselor for you. I have more than 8 years of experience working with a range of people experiencing anxiety, relationship issues, self-love, career and life transitions, and family conflict. I believe in creating skills for effective coping mechanisms for overall wellness.
Deciding to engage in therapy can be overwhelming. Finding a therapist whose personality and style is a good fit is important. I see the client/patient as the expert in your life with unique values and needs. I look forward to helping those effectively pursue their values and explore what keeps them from being the best version of themselves...

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Rachel Sims. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Dr. Sims has been great. I’ve only been seeing her for two weeks but I can tell we are making progress she opens my mind in different ways and challenges me when I need it. She is very knowledgeable about points out things I didn’t think of I like her perspective.
Dr. Sims has been extremely helpful with helping me navigate through my issues. She answers quickly and is genuinely concerned about my feelings. Sessions are fun and she offers great tips for dealing with stress and how to become more organized. I would definitely recommend her to other potential clients.
Rachel is an absolutely incredible therapist. She has changed my entire perspective on therapy and has made my reevaluate so much about myself and my own relationships. She tells you the hard truth and pushes you to be better. I couldn't be more grateful for Rachel
Highly recommend, she really gets me and changed my life for the better.
I have found it extremely easy to communicate with Rachel Sims. She managed to do a great job easily building rapport with me and has shown to be a great listener with excellent responses which I have found to be very helpful.
She’s great
Dr. Sims is awesome! She has been so helpful in my journey to recovery. She listens, responds and makes me feel like I'm on the right road. I'd recommend her 10/10.
I had struggled finding a therapist that was right for me for almost two years, but since the first session i had with Rachel - I knew that she was the one. Right off the bat, she understood me and had me set a goal at the end of each session. She also had me read and do homework which helped a lot to get a better understanding of myself. Overall, she was great and I made so much progress with her. Not only was she great at understanding me, but she had a great sense of humor and never failed to make me laugh. I always left therapy feeling a lot better and with a sense of direction and goals to accomplish before the next session.
I knew I needed something. I got online and figured now days I work online, can have groceries delivered and maybe I can even get therapy online? Yes! I found Rachel and read her background and thought I’d give it a try. For someone who is new to therapy, it felt like talking to an old friend. She was so warm and welcoming. It was easy to open up to her. I have built a lot of great new habits in just a few short months of working with her. She has been a blessing, as well as this app!
I absolutely love Rachel! She is so understanding, and she gives you the most amazing tools that are easy to use and remember. She helps you understand things in terms that you can actually make sense of and then helps you understand why things are that way, or why you feel that they are. Talking to rachel is def one of the highlights of my week. HIGHLY recommend!!
I just started with Rachel but already feel accepted and not judged.
Rachel is professional yet so easy to talk to and relatable! She’s full of knowledge and fun facts! She’s also quite funny. I feel so comfortable with her and can’t imagine a better match!
Rachel is kind and thoughtful and very flexible. Seems to know her stuff. I'm excited to continue this journey with her
Rachel is very thoughtful and has helped me to understand the dynamic my partner and I have. She is also helping us to find ways to overcome our relationship obstacles. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is seeking to improve their relationship or seeking to become a more positive person.
