Dr. Rebecca Thompson, Psychologist
About me
With 20 years of experience in the field of neuropsychology, I have worked with a variety of people including children, adults (men and women), and adolescents. Working in the field of neuropsychology has given me a different perspective on the most important organ we rely on every day, our human brain. Although each brain is somewhat unique, there are basic structural commonalities that assist in understanding the connection between how we think, what we feel, and our resulting behavior. The training and experience received in earning my doctorate, and my life experiences prior to the chosen path to return to graduate school, have shaped my approach to helping others find their way after upsetting events have occurred in their lives. My philosophy, centering on my role as a treating psychologist, or neuropsychologist, is to hear what you share with me with an open mind. I will guide you toward your goals and meet you at least half way. I will not do the work for you, but I will walk with you and help you open your mind to consider alternative ideas, set a plan in motion, and work toward a higher quality of living. People who work with me typically say that I am easy to talk to, careful in making suggestions, use my knowledge base as guidance, and sensitive to the needs of others. With an abundance of life experiences, we will find common ground that will bond us together on your journey of self-discovery.
