About me

I am an open-minded practitioner with a here-and-now focus who values warmth, unconditional positive regard, kindness, and understanding. I am a licensed independent clinician with more than 10 years in the social work field and mental health field. I have a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in social work from East TN State University. I have dedicated my life to the field of clinical social work. I am currently a licensed clinical social worker and have a private practice . I have been a therapist within both outpatient and residential settings. My specialty is treating those with depression, anxiety, anger, and adjustment disorders. My treatment approach is set on the foundation of the patient centered therapeutic relationship with the use of cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. I believe in helping others improve their lives through supportive listening, positive feedback, and offering helpful questioning designed to inspire change and instill hope. Autonomy is important in change while working within a collaboration. My role is to guide and support you in building the skills and confidence necessary to live your best life. I meet you where you are and build on your strengths and resources. My style is not always “easy”, as a CBT therapist helping clients identify/challenge faulty thought patterns and beliefs is important. Motivational Interviewing involves questioning designed to help clients discover discrepancies in their behaviors and their goals/wishes for themselves. This can sometimes push you past your comfort zone but with great consideration and emphasis given to your feelings. Oftentimes, clients aren't aware of what is holding them back and keeping them stuck in unhealthy patterns. I look forward to us working together in strengthen awareness, improving communication, increasing personal growth and nurturing healing.

Rebecca is great, she lets me work out the issues I’m having on my own until I get stuck. Then she offers helpful tips and advice. It’s been a great experience for me and works with my busy schedule.

Rebecca is awesome! I was having panic attacks, anxiety, relationship issues, and PTSD. She listens closely and helps me work through a lot of my issues. She doesn't just say what I want to hear, though. She gets real with you when she needs to, but she does it in a soft tone that let's you know she really cares about you. We have worked together for 4 months and things are much, much better. I have finished therapy, but it is great to know that if I need to start back up again it is super easy to do that.

Rebecca is very empathetic and realistic about the world but she doesn't let you just wallow in whatever is going on. She's all about helping you find a way to deal with it, understand how it's affecting you and then find ways to take better care of yourself.
