I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Louisiana. I am also a registered yoga teacher (RYT200) and dance instructor. My expertise is in treating anxiety and depression. I have helped clients in every age group presenting with a wide range of issues including ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, traumatic grief, workplace issues, behavioral problems, parenting problems, and relational problems.
I recognize the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship and emphasize empathic understanding in all my communication. I work to provide a safe, comfortable environment for you to engage in focused self-exploration, offering non-judgmental feedback and developing effective coping strategies along the way. I approach problems in a holistic way, addressing social, economic, cultural, physical and psychological facets of well-being.
I use an integrative psychotherapy model rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and tailored to the strengths and needs of each client. I begin by externalizing the problem from the person in cognitive-behavioral terms. Together we can identify any thought patterns that may be triggering or reinforcing negative feelings and behaviors. We can then work to correct those thought patterns, which will in turn change the feelings and behaviors you engage in response. I often use dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) techniques to develop mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. I may also suggest narrative therapy exercises that allow you to articulate your experiences and integrate their meaning.
These interventions involve a lot of writing out your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so that we can notice patterns and find alternative choices. This is why weekly Live Chat sessions, along with sending messages and completing worksheets in between sessions, are a perfect modality for this treatment approach.
Your therapeutic process should reflect and develop your unique strengths. I welcome your feedback throughout the course of therapy to ensure that we are making meaningful, sustainable progress toward your personal goals. I know how much courage it takes to open up to someone new and ask for help, and I would be honored to join you on your journey to well-being.

Accidentally clicked the wrong answer for how Renee responds. She responds in a timely manner. She is great. Couldn’t ask for a better experience. She really listens and challenges me to grow in ways that benefit me.
