I am a licensed clinical social worker in Tennessee with 4+ years of experience working in a psychiatric hospital as a therapist. My career began working on an inpatient unit with adults, specializing in substance use and co-occurring disorders where I provided brief, solution-focused therapy and used motivational interviewing to collaboratively develop treatment goals with clients. My current full-time position gives me the opportunity to provide group therapy to clients seeking treatment for substance use and mental health. I also have experience working with adult survivors of human trafficking through a local non-profit.
My therapy style is laid back, warm, and collaborative. You are in charge, and I'm here to guide you to feeling more empowered. I believe identifying our values and faulty core beliefs are the foundation to success and healing. Stand for something so you don't fall for anything! I also emphasize the importance of healthy self-esteem and will push you out of your comfort zone to learn to love yourself. I use evidence-based treatment modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy.
Being vulnerable is brave, and if you're ready to take the next step, I'm ready to support and empower you.

Rheann Maxwell is awesome. She got right to the heart of my problem, asked such great questions, and really listened. She suggested exercises to do, and provided me with pertinent reading materials. She is very genuine and has a good sense of humor. After working with Rheann, I feel so hopeful about my treatment. Also, she answers messages if I need to speak to her outside our session.
