About me

Life is difficult. How you choose to deal with this reality directly affects the quality of your life. Living in the past will bring on depression since you cannot change what has already happened. Living in the future leads to anxiety as you experience worry about how to deal with what has yet to happen.
You don't have to live that way. Individual therapy can help you learn to accept your past, deal with your future, and find the courage to live in the present moment, the place where living a quality life begins.
As a psychotherapist, former hospital chaplain, and high school athletic coach, I possess a combination of life approaches (clinical skill, compassionate presence, individual encouragement) that can provide you with a unique therapeutic experience - one that can change your life for the better.

I meant to hit 10! Rick has been the push I needed to seriously look at myself and what I value. He’s been incredibly welcoming and understanding and I look forward to our discussions. He is fantastic.

I am so grateful to have found Rick on BetterHelp! I have difficulty opening up to people especially those I just meet and Rick has been patient with me throughout the process. He is kind, approachable, relatable and compassionate while also holding me accountable to my part of therapy. He has continued to provide me with tools I need to tap into emotions I never even realized I had. I am so happy that Rick has been able to help me in my journey to better my mental health!

Richard really helped me through a very rough patch. I immediately felt a connection with him. He was very easy to talk to, attentive and helped me sort my thoughts and feelings out quickly. Our sessions sometimes ran long, and even through some connection issues during calls he kept coming back and didn't give up. I can honestly say as a blue collar worker that has never been to therapy, this was an amazing experience and I am very thankful for him.

Work with me!
