About me

I am licensed in the UK with 3 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with depression, anxiety, coping with addictions, relationship issues, & family conflicts.

I use a variety of effective counselling and psychotherapy methods to create self-understanding among clients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations.

Counselling is a process that empowers clients to seize back control of their lives, whilst working through issues and problems that have caused them to lose self-esteem, as well as confidence in their own abilities.

Counselling increases self-awareness and a sense of well-being, and is often the first step individuals take on their path to discovering a more positive life.

Counselling is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the client and therapist alike.

Celebrating small changes to self-defeating behaviours and coping with feelings of anxiety, depression, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.

My Philosophy of

Atma Prema can be translated as “self-love.” This is not the self as we usually think of it, but the essential self, the self that exists at the centre of all of us.

Atma Prema arises from the realisation that beyond our personal circumstances, faults and fallibilities —beyond even our personal history—we are all capable of change and growth.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Richard Phalp. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I've had two sessions with Richard so far, and I find him easy to talk to. He is a good listener and asks thought provoking questions. He has a calm manner that makes me feel relaxed.

Empathetic, non-judgemental, supportive and genuinely interested in helping you make the best decisions. And a sense of humour!

Richard has provided a safe and empathetic space for me to discuss the issues I’m facing, and has given good sparring and inputs to help me see things from different perspectives and to equip me with the toolbox to take on these issues. I have really appreciated my sessions with Richard, he really listens and empathizes while also really helping me to frame my thoughts, and help me identify ways to address them.
