Making the decision to see a therapist is a very courageous act, and I applaud you for making the choice to seek help. I provide a very relaxed and calming atmosphere where my clients can engage in the work they need to do to effect substantive change in their lives. All of us have a tool shed full of tools which we typically use on a daily basis to cope with day-to-day stress and problems. Sometimes, however, life becomes too much, and when it does, we typically forget about the tools we have, or we lose the entire shed. My job is not to tell you what to do with your life - I do not have to live with your decisions. My job is to remind you of the tools you already have in your shed, and provide even more tools so that you can manage much more effectively and life become less distressing and intimidating. To that end, I will help you identify strategies and skills which work for you. I will help you look at things from a different perspective and may even challenge some of your long held thinking and beliefs. The therapist may be the expert on therapy, but you are the expert on you. I provide the "buffet table" of options, but you use your expertise to pick and choose "what you will eat".

Robert was extremely helpful to me in the lowest point that I have had personally in my life.

Quickly he gave me coping tactics and assured me that I was strong enough to overcome this slump that I was in. He was always giving me his undivided attention made sure to follow up with every concern I had week to week.

It was my first time in therapy and I felt comfortable right off the bat with him.

Doug has been very helpful in listening, guiding, and helping the discussion move. Definitely would recommend if you want to gain different insights/perspective on your situation, or need a solid, actionable advice that you can implement in your day right away. Sessions with Doug have been very practical at addressing the core issue and for myself, have gained a lot of benefit with just few sessions.

Doug listens with his whole attention. He offers feedback that speaks sensitively and directly to the heart of the challenges I face. His follow up videos help to insure memory and understanding of the content of our sessions. I wasn’t sure about having a male therapist but I’m so glad BH connected me to Doug. He’s a masterful therapist with heart. Many thanks for helping me grow, expand and find my way more gently in the world.

Doug is my safe spot. He is very intuitive and can read between my lines. He is gentle with me as he knows I’m highly sensitive and have past trauma. I feel very comfortable with Doug and I am learning to open up more and show vulnerability and maybe even incorrect thinking. It’s ok for me to be wrong. It’s ok for me to share that with Doug as he will not judge me. Instead he will give me another way to think about it.
