Making the decision to see a therapist is a very courageous act, and I applaud you for making the choice to seek help. I provide a very relaxed and calming atmosphere where my clients can engage in the work they need to do to effect substantive change in their lives. All of us have a tool shed full of tools which we typically use on a daily basis to cope with day-to-day stress and problems. Sometimes, however, life becomes too much, and when it does, we typically forget about the tools we have, or we lose the entire shed. My job is not to tell you what to do with your life - I do not have to live with your decisions. My job is to remind you of the tools you already have in your shed, and provide even more tools so that you can manage much more effectively and life become less distressing and intimidating. To that end, I will help you identify strategies and skills which work for you. I will help you look at things from a different perspective and may even challenge some of your long held thinking and beliefs. The therapist may be the expert on therapy, but you are the expert on you. I provide the "buffet table" of options, but you use your expertise to pick and choose "what you will eat".

Doug is my safe spot. He is very intuitive and can read between my lines. He is gentle with me as he knows I’m highly sensitive and have past trauma. I feel very comfortable with Doug and I am learning to open up more and show vulnerability and maybe even incorrect thinking. It’s ok for me to be wrong. It’s ok for me to share that with Doug as he will not judge me. Instead he will give me another way to think about it.

Doug truly “listens” to everything i say. It may seem like he’s not responding right away but that’s only because he’s taking it all in to make the best assessment he can. After the session he sends recap videos that pull everything together so i have a plan of either “to dos” or mental “to dos” until the next session. Doug is extremely professional, courteous and just an all around good guy. i would highly recommend him.

Doug is professional, sensitive and kind. He’s also to the point enough to help me move through challenges I’m facing with an occasional gentle nudge. The questions he asks are spot on and help me reflect. I’ve been able to make some difficult and pivotal life decisions with Doug’s support. I also appreciate how he sends follow up videos recapping my sessions. This is over and above expectations. It helps me know I’ve been heard, and helps me move forward. Doug is more than a therapist. He’s a life coach. I’ve had therapy before but this is some of the best!

Robert (Doug) Chalmers is very attentive and kind. He is easy to talk to and offers valuable insight and suggestions. He always follows up after each session with a short video or 2 summarizing the session, provides additional support, encouragement, and suggestions for next session. He invites feedback if he “misses the mark” in his perception. I have found this platform and his service to be very valuable.

Since the beginning of my experience with Doug, I have gone out of my way and done everything I could to champion the act of going to therapy through any medium, be it through an app or in person. Doug has been extremely helpful in my journey towards rehabilitation and I feel closer to achieving this goal through the weeks spent speaking with him. Whether it's a patient, listening ear or a dose of reality, Doug has exceeded every expectation I had at the beginning of my journey with therapy.

I spent several video sessions with Doug and got a lot out of each and every one of them. Doug is an excellent and active listener and a very direct communicator (which I really appreciated). For me, I don't want to be told what anyone thinks I want to hear. I want constructive feedback and tools that can really help me. Doug delivered on both fronts!
As life becomes increasingly complex, it is imperative that we all be able to sort through that complexity, stay true to who we and hold close the people and values that are most important to us. I encourage everyone to seek out therapy if you are struggling and recommend Doug highly as a therapist.

Doug thought me so much in little to no time at all, he has helped me get through a chapter in my life and without his wise and funny videos he’d often send, I don’t know where I’d be right now. Even when Doug was on holiday and had said he wouldn’t be taking messages for a few days, he always had the time to check in and even answer any questions I had. I consider Doug a friend now and not just a therapist. I would 110% recommend this man to anyone who is feeling a bit lost right now or needs some direction in their lives.
