Hi! I'm very happy to be here.
For the past 20 years, I've been in academia as an educator. I am constantly researching new, interesting, and relevant information to include in my teachings and to share with my friends, family, and colleagues. I utilize social networks to disseminate this information as well. I not only share info related directly to psychology, but expand it to wellness, health, fitness, nutrition, and exercise. So I encourage life-long learning. I feel that the concepts in Psychology offer themselves to being transformational and meaningful.
I spent my childhood and most of his teenage years in Houston, TX. I was active in sports and played through high school. I finished myundergraduate career at Texas A&M University in College Station and completed my MS at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX. . I am also is personal trainer, assisting in weight loss and nutrition.
Much of my work has been in the community, working with youth. In 1990, right after receiving my undergraduate degree, I worked with Communities In Schools, a non-profit student enrichment program. In 1994, I began a relationship with Youth Advocates, Inc., with whom I continue to work with on a part-time basis, as a consultant.
My interests include photography, fitness, music, tennis, basketball, and my dogs Indigo, Otis, Dulce and Onyx.
I strive to maintain a positive relationship with clients by creating a safe, open environment in the therapy session. I treat people with respect and attempt to maintain a high level of approachability and accessibility. I also utilize humor to maintain a level of acceptance and warmth in the therapy session.
Have a great day!
