About me

Rodney, MA, NCC, LPC is a psychotherapist certified through The National Board for Certified Counselors which is the premier credentialing body for counselors, ensuring that counselors who become board certified have achieved the highest standard of practice through education, examination, supervision, experience, and ethical guidelines.

He is dedicated to supporting individuals through life’s many challenges. Rodney endeavors to develop therapeutic relationships that value connection and collaboration. His goal as a therapist is to provide a safe space that promotes healing, a healthy lifestyle, increasing resiliency and coping, and cultivating self-confidence. He considers it an honor to witness the shifts that occur when people are free to explore their life experiences from a lens that is free of judgment and expectation.

Rodney’s Postgraduate education includes Heartmath Institute’s Heart Rate Variability Coaching, Neuroscience Informed Treatment including Biofeedback and Neurofeedback for Optimal Health and Peak Performance.

He has extensive experience in working with adults and adolescents. Areas of specialization include personal growth, developmental transitions, trauma (including complex PTSD), anxiety, attention deficits, behavioral challenges, relationship and communication issues, spiritual exploration, and reactions to stress including panic.

His theoretical approach is eclectic and is designed to best serve the individualized needs of his clients as unique bio-psycho-social beings. His areas of client support include Narrative therapy, Emotionally Focused Counseling for Individuals, Rapid Resolution Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and alternative modalities such as Mindfulness and hypnotherapy.

Rodney brings to his work in psychotherapy over 25 years in human resources and executive administration. He has worked in several environments including a rural hospital and various clinics. His work with a prominent Fortune 500 company included managing employee health, injury rehabilitation, drug and alcohol recovery, staff training and healthcare professional placement.

Rodney is an engaging speaker who is active in the community. He enjoys presenting on topics related to the human brain. the body/brain connection, and holistic approaches to brain health. Rodney earned his Masters in Community Counseling from Argosy University and his B.A. in Psychology from L.S.U.
