This is Rosa Gomez. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I was born in Colombia where I completed my bachelor Degree in Psychology before moving to the US in 2005. Being fluent in both Spanish and English allows me the to work with diverse populations. In 2012 I completed a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have worked for nonprofit organizations as a therapist working with children, adolescents and adults. My focus areas are: depression, anxiety, grief and loss, stress management, relationships difficulties, trauma, cultural issues. To provide psychotherapy services has been my passion. I like to assist people in their personal growth by encouraging their resilience and helping them tap into their potential to overcome life’s difficulties. As a holistic therapist I use different approaches depending on personal needs. I focus on acceptance, empathy and non-judgment. Life teaches us through different experiences and challenges. By being aware of these lessons we can find self-understanding and acceptance, both of which will help us face life challenges.
It does not matter what difficult or problem are you going thorough, I invite you to welcome this moment not as a problem but as a challenge that will bring lessons to help you grow emotionally and personally. These challenges often point to those areas of our lives where we need to spend some time, to grow and learn. My role as a therapist is not to come up with solutions, but to assist you in finding them yourself. I will help you reach deep within yourself, because the solutions are there. I will help you find them.
I admire your courage and maturity to reach out. I will support you in your journey until you are ready to continue alone in your journey. Your determination will get you far. I look forward to working with you.

I am so relieved to have been matched with Rosa because she’s practically always available and flexible with scheduling sessions which is what I really needed, she responds quickly and is a great listener. This is my beginning of a new start to therapy so I am not familiar with the whole process yet. Therefore I wish to have more guidance and advice then support but I believe we’re slowly getting somewhere. I especially love the assessments because I believe I have learned a lot from those.
Rosa was very helpful with helping managing anxiety and focusing on self care.
So far my experience with Dr Rosa Gomez Dunque has been positive. She approaches the problem I bringing to the conversation with extreme respect and value all of my feelings. I will keep working with her. I am confident she will help me feeling better. And make improvements in my life.
Rosa is helping me with all my problems. Love her and recommended her to others.
Rosa's kindness and expertise have been invaluable to me. I have struggled to find a therapist I feel comfortable staying with long term and I am so grateful to have found her! She encourages me to be the best me I can be and helps me forgive myself when I fall short.
Rosa has been an amazing blessing in my life. When I first signed up for BetterHelp, I wasn’t sure what the process would be like. Immediately, Rosa was so kind, thoughtful, insightful, and patient. She helped me to learn that I can and should cry, rather than trying to hold in my feelings. Rosa has helped me navigate so many aspects of my life and continues to help me grow as a person. She is an amazing listener and has guided me through some difficult moments. She has become the little voice in my head when I’m not sure what to do. Rosa also reaches out through messages and has provided worksheets for me to reflect and work on. I am so grateful for all Rosa has done for me! She is an amazing counselor.
This is my first time ever receiving any counseling and Rosa has made me very comfortable from the start. I was able to talk about my trauma and receive thoughtful understanding and advice. I am feeling a lot of changes in my life already and she is helping me develop coping skills and better understanding of my past and current situation. Rosa is a very kind and generous counselor. I would recommend her to anyone who needs help in childhood trauma and family therapy.
