Rosario Lopez-Rivera, LCSW
About me
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I bring over two decades of compassionate, culturally responsive clinical experience to my work. My practice is grounded in cultural humility—approaching each client with openness, curiosity, and respect for the unique lived experiences, identities, and strengths they bring into the therapeutic space. I am deeply committed to ongoing learning and self-reflection to ensure that care remains affirming, responsive, and collaborative.
I specialize in supporting individuals navigating complex life transitions, identity exploration, and personal growth, with particular expertise working with LGBTQ+ communities. I work thoughtfully with concerns related to trauma, anxiety, self-esteem, and the impact of discrimination, recognizing how intersecting identities and systemic factors shape emotional well-being. My approach emphasizes empowerment, validation, and partnership, creating a non-judgmental environment where clients feel seen, heard, and supported.
Drawing from evidence-based practices, I support clients facing challenges related to relationships, sexuality, gender identity, immigration experiences, and personal transformation. I strive to create a therapeutic space that honors each person’s cultural, social, and personal context while fostering healing, resilience, and meaningful change. I offer bilingual services in English and Spanish to ensure accessible, inclusive care for diverse communities.

Rosario knows how to listen & is gentle in delivering messages. Rosario provides accurate feedback & knows how to frame things in a way that can be understood. She is great giving a new prospective while also letting people know that sometimes you have to voice things so that you can advocate for yourself & needs. I appreciate Rosario & her work.

Rosario is an amazing therapist and has helped me so much. She's professional, compassionate, and has made me feel comfortable sharing and processing things with her, and she's helped me connect the dots and see patterns in my life, and understand how to work through them. Very grateful, highly recommended.

Rosario is kind and patient. She allows me to express myself in the ways I need to. She is respectful of my feelings and my time. She always makes me feel like I am the most important. It’s almost like I’m her only client. She responds to me outside of our sessions which really helps me to feel important and help me continue to heal everyday.
