About Me

Hello! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia with over 15 years of experience. I have had the privilege to work with a diverse population and in a variety of settings which include a university counseling center, community mental health, and a residential facility. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, career issues, relationship issues (family conflict, partner conflict, trust issues & poor communication), trauma (sexual assault, domestic & emotional abuse), self-confidence, self-acceptance, and LGBT issues.

My counseling style is personable, compassionate, and non-judgemental. I will always show empathy, respect, understanding and support. I typically use a person-centered approach combined with cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and solution focused. I also use a strengths-based and positive psychology approach when working with individuals. Together, we would work to develop a plan that is tailored to your individual needs and goals.

Life can sometimes leave us feeling stressed and uncertain. You are not alone on your journey. I greatly appreciate the courage required to seek support for a more fulfilling life. Change can be scary but it can also be wonderfully empowering. If you are ready to explore what has held you from experiencing life more fully, I am here to support and empower your efforts and I look forward to working with you!

After a few conversations on chat and one phone session, I can already tell she is great at what she does and this is definitely her calling. Before talking to her, I was a wreck but after she listened to me rant about all my problems, she offered some great advice and I felt so much better following it. Ill have another phone appt tomorrow with her and im looking forward to it! Thank you, Ruth! Its people like you that make the world a better place! ❤️
