About Me

I am a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner and Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Nebraska. Since 2005, I have provided therapeutic services to individuals, families and groups from age 1 to 89.
While some people believe that counseling and therapy are for people with problems, I have come to believe that these services are for people that have goals and I have worked with thousands of people in the identification and attainment of personal, relational, vocational and spiritual goals.
With undergraduate and graduate training in philosophy, psychology, religion and linguistics, my approach involves helping others find meaning in life and resolution of their situational concerns.

Reaching out for help wasn’t the easiest thing to do. I knew Ryan was the right therapist for me from the first session. He listened to my issues, gave me alternative ways of thinking, and provided me with the tools needed to succeed. I came to Ryan 112 days ago for help with alcohol abuse, anxiety and stress. I have since been alcohol free and am very grateful for his help. For anyone hesitant about online therapy like I was, this is one of the best things I’ve done for myself. Ryan is a true professional. Thanks again!!

Ryan surpassed expectations I didn’t know I had. He really does his best at trying to understand my concerns, respects emotional boundaries and drives the conversation in a very respectful manner. He shares insights that I can process at my own pace and rhythm. One can see that Ryan cares for his patients and is a good listener. Since I started my therapy sessions my anxiety has decreased significantly. Overall, this had a great influence on my quality of life and I am looking forward to every session. Couldn’t recommend more!

Ryan is an excellent counselor who lets me dump all the puzzle pieces out, and then lets me put them back together with some helpful guidance. He's not afraid to let thoughts or reflections hang in the air in silence, and I respect that approach. I've been extremely satisfied with BetterHelp so far and I recommend it to everyone I can. Thank you! I'm excited to see where I can go from here.

Ryan is a very helpful counselor because he is educated in philosophy. The life skills he has to bring and the arsenal of perspective give me the confidence that I am speaking with a professional that can offer me help.

Ryan is a phenomenal counselor who was able to draw from literature, philosophies, psychology, and sociology in our sessions. It's always tough finding a counselor who works for and with you, especially one who turns the session into a responsive and dynamix conversation without deviating from your needs from it, and Ryan has been amazing with that. I say that last bit as someone who is easily distracted and distracting in my topic changes, but his focus on my needs, encouragements and patience while we talk has always been a huge help.

I am so thankful for Ryan. I am a very private person, but I am very comfortable being open and honest with Ryan. He listens and validates. He is kind and honest. He reminds me that I can’t control others and their actions, but I do have control over my own actions. He helps me problem solve and offers suggestions regarding communication, breathing & relaxation techniques, and encourages me to take care of myself. I’m so appreciative of his perspective and the perspective I have gained through talking with him.
