I work with individuals, couples and families who are experiencing difficulties. I have been practicing mental health counseling for over 22 years and have worked with all ages of people, and a wide range of presenting issues. I have a foundation in Narrative Therapy and Adult Attachment Theory, and over the past 6 years have studied Neurobiology and how it informs the mental health field.
I work from the perspective that we were meant to be in relationship with one another, whether it is a family of origin, friendships or romantic. It is through relationships that we find comfort or experience distress. Understanding our attachment styles and how our biology works in conjunction with the skills we have learned through our lifetime can give clues about why our relationships work or don’t work as well as how to enhance the security and fulfillment we receive from our primary relationships.
From there we can work on:
-finding new ways to look at and understand the problems you face
-changing unhealthy or dysfunctional patterns
-strengthening the helpful, healthy skills you already have
…in order to enhance the security and fulfillment you feel in your life and relationships today and in the future.

We have attempted counseling a handful of times, but have never both been confident in a counselor before. Elizabeth has created a safe space for my husband and myself to be vulnerable, raw, respected and uplifted while correcting behaviors. I’m not sure how everyone else handles being corrected, but I’m close to a mule when it comes to change. Elizabeth has beautiful guided us on a journey with positive affirmations, genuine care and sincere consideration for us personally. We appreciate her more than words can properly announce. We strongly suggest anyone looking for a counselor to give her a shot!
