About me

My name is Salma, and I’m a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can talk openly and begin to explore the challenges you're facing.
I work mainly from a person-centred approach, which means I place your individual experiences, emotions, and values at the heart of our work together.

My goal is to create a safe environment that fosters healing, growth, and deeper self-awareness.
Life can be overwhelming at times. You may be feeling low, anxious, stuck, or struggling with change. Perhaps you're coping with a loss, navigating a relationship break-up, or facing transitions that feel uncertain or difficult. Whatever you're going through, you're not alone and therapy can be a powerful step toward clarity and emotional balance.
A Bit About My Background
I hold a degree in Psychology and Criminology, which has helped shape my understanding of complex human behaviours. My professional journey began in the charity sector, where I supported individuals facing a range of mental health issues.
I later completed my Masters in professional training in counselling and psychotherapy, gaining clinical experience through the NHS in a GP setting. There, I worked with clients dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, domestic abuse, and other emotional challenges. I also spent three years working with a charity that supports survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery experiences that have deeply informed my trauma-aware practice.
Areas I Specialise In:
• Depression and low mood
• Anxiety and panic
• Relationship difficulties and break-ups
• Life transitions and identity challenges
• Grief and loss
• Trauma and recovery
• Cultural identity and belonging
I bring a culturally sensitive and inclusive approach to my work. I value diversity and understand that our backgrounds, beliefs, and lived experiences shape how we move through the world and how we heal.
If you're ready to take the first step, I’m here to walk alongside you.

So far I’ve had two sessions and I have been made to feel listened to understood and allowed myself to reflect on my own behaviour and Ways in a new light that I’ve never had before. I feel fully listened to and I can bring to light new ways of changing my behaviour in a positive manner. I have two more sessions and I feel like I could become a very new person and will be able to find myself through this project. I feel very confident and very happy so far and I have Salma to think 100% for everything
