I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri. My professional experiences are three years at two universities, working with students presenting a wide range of issues: anxiety and depression, gender identity, relationships, sexual addiction, personality disorders, curriculum, and career choices, and adjustment to life in the US with students from other countries. Twenty-two years in the Army Medical Service Corps provided an array of the workplace, family, and PTSD client issues.
My approach is focused on client needs and draws from these treatment models: attachment theory, psychotherapy, object relations, self-psychology, existential and person-centered therapies. My style is respectful and interactive. I believe it is crucial to be happy at work and in love. There is great benefit in striving for a better self, more satisfying relationships, and richer life. A relationship with a trusted therapist is the key.

What I appreciated about Salvatore was his willingness to let you explore your own feelings without judgement. Depending on your needs, he is happy to give you the space to just sit with your feelings, to offer the questions that will guide you closer to your authentic emotions, as well as to offer you an interpretation of your words back to you in order to help you see a new path forward. Salvatore is good about taking notes and returning to themes that develop across sessions. I recommend Salvatore to people dealing with relationship issues, anxiety, and loneliness, among others.
